FUNERAL CONSUMER SOCIETY OF COLORADO

The Funeral Consumer Society of Colorado is a not-for-profit organization run by volunteers which provides valuable information about funerals and their costs. They have contracts with several local funeral homes. Its members can obtain cremation for under $1,000 and traditional burials for under $3,000. A two-year membership is only $10 per individual and includes a 60-page handbook with important planning information as well as other benefits.

Our chapter board member Ray Hockedy has submitted a report of his meeting with Stewart Fleisher, a board member of the Funeral Consumer Society of Colorado and an estate-planning attorney: “We had an excellent discussion about our respective organizations, and I provided him with a few handouts that he can pass along to his board. We agreed to put brief articles in each other’s newsletters to inform membership about our respective organizations. I provided Stewart with an article about Compassion & Choices.”
